Written by the lead singer, Dan Baird about the drummer Mauro Magellan having problems with his girlfriend not wanting to have sex until they were married. It was released in 1986.
The Georgia Satellites hailed from Atlanta, Georgia.
The song came out in the MTV video heyday and won an award at MTV’s first video awards show. I remember that video well, where the band was playing on the back of a moving flatbed truck and pulls up to a backyard BBQ, and Dan (the singer) gets carried off at shotgun to marry his pregnant girlfriend.
The song is simple and features classic Chuck Berryish guitar licks and is sure to get people dancing and singing when you play this live.
Rick Price - Rick is an enigma. I can’t find anything about him anywhere, but will continue to pursue his history and edit this post later.
